Former Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar does not appear to have high hopes ahead of the coming season.
Tottenham Hotspur suffered defeat against Real Madrid in the Audi Cup pre-season tournament, and former chairman Lord Sugar is already feeling pessimistic about the season ahead.
He took to Twitter to issue his blunt view, that he saw little to get excited about, most notably moaning about the tactics and style of the team.
I watched the Spurs game against Real Madrid . I didn't get a feeling of high hopes for us if that's the way we are going to play.— Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) August 4, 2015
Spurs lost 2-0, with former White Hart Lane favourite Gareth Bale scoring the second goal of the game, somewhat inevitably, in his first game against his old side.
It is of course dangerous to get too carried away with pre-season results or form, with the matches designed for experimentation and getting players match fit.
Last season Manchester United won every single one of their matches, and then when it counted, lost their Premier League opener against Swansea.
Lord Sugar's pessimism could quickly turn around if they repeat a similar result at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime, but he is not feeling lucky right now, responding to nod in agreement with a fan who predicted a heavy loss.
