HITC Sport understands Chelsea defender Todd Kane is set for a loan move to Holland

Chelsea defender Todd Kane is set for a loan move to Holland with NEC Nijmegen, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Kane signed a new three-year deal at Stamford Bridge on Monday and the club plan to send him out on loan so that he can regular first-team football this upcoming season.

The 21-year-old has yet to make his first-team debut for Chelsea having joined the club from the age of seven and come through the club's academy.

The full-back was a member of Chelsea's Under-18s FA Youth Cup winning side in 2012 and has captained the Under-21s.

Kane has spent spells out on loan at Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers, Bristol City, and Nottingham Forest in the last few years so that he can garner some valuable experience.

The former England Under-19 international is now set to spend another season out on loan with NEC Njimegen hoping to take him to Holland.

Chelsea have already sent the likes of Lewis Baker, Izzy Brown, Danilo Pantic and Nathan on loan to Dutch feeder club Vitesse Arnhem this summer and it looks like Kane could also make the move to the Eredivisie where he will come up against his Chelsea team-mates next season.
