Aston Villa have made a considerable number of signings this summer meaning manager Tim Sherwood has a challenge on his hands to bed everyone in quickly and effectively.
Shopping predominantly in France, the Villa boss has clearly identified weaknesses in his squad and dealt with them swiftly, with left-back Jordan Amavi and midfielders Idrissa Gueye and Jordan Veretout the standout signings to date.
With Christian Benteke leaving Villa Park this summer it will be up to Rudy Gestede and Jordan Ayew to score the goals, with the former Blackburn Rovers front-man likely to be first-choice given his impressive tally last season.
There will be some familiar faces in the strongest starting line-up, though, with Brad Guzan in goal and the centre-back pairing of Ciaran Clark and Jores Okore undoubtedly the strongest available partnership.
Jack Grealish should also continue having been given plenty of chances by Sherwood last season while on the opposite flank, Carles Gil should finally get to show Villa fans what he can do when played regularly.
