West Brom reportedly bid £7.7m for Dennis Praet

West Brom - The Hawthorns

Could West Bromwich Albion be on the verge of signing a very talented young midfielder?

According to a report from Belgian website Carrement Steph, West Bromwich Albion have made an €11million bid for Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet.

That equates to around £7.7million and given the young player’s talent it would be a great piece of business if the Baggies are ultimately successful.

Anderlecht have already seen two of their players head for England this summer, with both Aleksandar Mitrovic and Chancel Mbemba signing for Newcastle United, so it remains to be seen if they will allow another first-team player to move on so soon.

The report claims West Brom are currently the front-runners for the player’s signature after Spanish side Sevilla pulled out, and it goes on to say that if the player can agree personal terms with Tony Pulis’s side a move could be in the offing with no real issues over the fee.

Praet is an attacking midfielder who has played 133 times for Anderlecht, scoring 21 goals and providing 30 assists in the process.

Last season the 21-year-old scored nine goals and set up an additional 11 in 38 games and he has also been capped once by the senior Belgium team.

If West Brom signed him, it would be quite a coup, but according to the latest report there still seems some way to go before a move is finalised.
