A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Tottenham are ready to take a big loss over the sale of striker Roberto Soldado.

The paper claims that Tottenham have opened talks with Spanish club Villarreal.

Their report suggests that a fee around the figure of £11 million is the main talking point, substantially less than what Tottenham paid for the player.

Spurs youngster Josh Onomah has told the club’s website abut his first thought when he got onto the pitch against the MLS All Stars in the recently friendly between the sides.

The Mirror has also reported that the intense training schedule of Manchester United is part of their preparations for the Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur.

The paper states that United had very little turnaround time between flights when they travelled for a recent defeat against PSG in the USA.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino threw Onomah into the game, with Tottenham losing at 2-1 down.

He’s described that his first thought during the game was to try and find any way to have an impact.

“Obviously when I came on we were losing 2-1 so my first thought was that I needed to come on and make an impact,” he said.
