Great to be back at the lane playing football pre season done, unbeaten and ready for the start of the season pic.twitter.com/Dy9KzDDhGB— billy sharp (@billysharp10) August 2, 2015
Billy Sharp sent a message to fans after returning to action at Bramall Lane.
Sheffield United's new signing played a role in helping the Blades hold Championship opposition Hull City to a draw. It was the second particularly impressive result of the club's pre-season, after they drew with Premier League side Newcastle United a week earlier.
It was Sharp's first game back at the stadium since his transfer from Leeds, beginning his third spell at the club.
Sharp had told The Star over the weekend that he had twice snubbed approaches from rivals Sheffield Wednesday due to his affection for United.
He began his career with the Blades, leaving in 2005 before rejoining in 2007, and leaving for Doncaster Rovers in 2010.
