Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat is set to complete two loan deals this week.
Black Cats boss Dick Advocaat has been hard at work in the transfer market, as he looks to improve the options he’s got in his squad for the coming season.
Sunderland managed to stay clear of the bottom three last time round, with some revitalised performances under the Dutchman and the club will be looking to avoid a repeat of the struggles of last year.
What are the deals on the table?
The Northern Echo states that the side are looking at two loan deals for the players, with managing director Lee Congerton thought to have been working behind the scenes to close out the deals, while the first team continues to prepare for the new season.
Both players are midfielders, which improves Advocaat’s options in the middle, which is significant looking ahead.
Sunderland are at their best when they can control games and extra numbers of midfield, gives the side a better chance of controlling big matches when someone picks up a short or long term injury.
It’s the sort of depth that Sunderland didn’t have in their squad last season and they should benefit as a result.
