According to The Mirror, Manchester United are confident that they can secure a deal for Barcelona winger Pedro in the next 48 hours.
Much like last summer's spending spree, United boss Louis van Gaal has splashed the cash once again, this time around, bringing in the likes of Sergio Romero, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay.
However, with Angel di Maria set to join Paris Saint-Germain according to BBC Sport, United need to bring in another attacking force - and it seems that Spanish international Pedro is their top target.
The 28-year-old has the pace and energy United need in the final third, and with Barcelona having the likes of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, Pedro may need to leave the Camp Nou in order to play regular first team football again.
Now, The Mirror report that manager Van Gaal is confident of completing a swoop on his former club Barcelona by signing Pedro, with a deal potentially imminent.
The report states that Pedro has been offered a four-year deal to join the Red Devils, and with a £20m fee, United are allegedly nearing a deal in the next 48 hours.
With Schweinsteiger, Schnederlin and Ander Herrera likely to form a midfield trio, United could have a dangerous front three in Depay, Pedro and Wayne Rooney.
Depay has the trickery and potential to score from long range, which lends itself to him cutting in from the left hand side as he did at former club PSV Eindhoven, whilst Rooney knows how to lead the line in the centre.
With Pedro providing darting runs in behind defences, United could have one of the most threatening attacking line-ups in the Premier League - if they can indeed tie up a deal for Pedro before the transfer deadline.
