Queens Park Rangers brought their pre-season preparations to a close with a 1-1 draw against Atalanta on Sunday, with summer signing Massimo Luongo making his home debut.
The Australia international became QPR boss Chris Ramsey’s first permanent signing after he moved from League One side Swindon Town earlier this summer and the 22-year-old should go on to become a Loftus Road fan favourite given his innate talent.
The former Tottenham Hotspur player may not have made it at White Hart Lane but there are plenty of Spurs fans who believe he should have been given more chances, and after a productive spell at Swindon Luongo now has the chance to help fire QPR back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
On Saturday it was fellow summer signing Jay Emmanuel-Thomas who scored QPR’s goal but Luongo looked bright throughout and he should supply plenty of goals and assists when the competitive action kicks off next weekend.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what QPR fans thought of Luongo’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Been impressed with Luongo and Gladwin from what I've seen of them. Phillips best player on the pitch. #QPR— Chris Rodgers (@iamCRo) August 2, 2015
Gladwin, Luongo, Faurlin best for QPR. Pleasing to see a more measured game being tried: feeling of a team being knitted together.— Brian Ó hAllumhuráin (@playingwithdust) August 2, 2015
