Southampton are looking to finish the job against the Dutch side later this week.
Southampton may have one eye on their opening Premier League encounter with Newcastle United on Sunday but before that they have to finish the job against Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa League third qualifying round.
Ronald Koeman’s side already hold a healthy 3-0 advantage from the first leg, courtesy of goals from Graziano Pelle, Dusan Tadic and Shane Long, but the Saints boss will know the match is far from won.
For that reason he is likely to pick a strong side for the second leg, perhaps with one or two players rested for the game against the Magpies just three days later.
Southampton’s final pre-season friendly of the summer against Espanyol on Sunday gave Koeman the chance to play some of his fringe and returning players and some of those could well feature either from the start or on the bench on Thursday.
