Former Ipswich Town and Leeds United striker Noel Hunt joined Southend United last week.
Newly-signed Southend United striker Noel Hunt has taken to social networking site Twitter to comment on his debut for the club.
Hunt made his debut for the League One outfit against Leyton Orient at Roots Hall in a pre-season friendly game on Sunday.
It was Southend’s final match in their pre-season programme, and it ended in a 1-0 defeat.
Republic of Ireland international striker Hunt started the encounter on the substitutes’ bench and came on at half time.
The 32-year-old looked rusty in the second half, but he is confident that he will be back to form soon.
Enjoyed the 45 today altho I do feel rusty but it was my first in 7 months so it will come !! Should if won by 3 or 4 if we're honest!— Noel Hunt (@boyhunt) August 2, 2015
Hunt joined Southend on a one-year contract with the option of a second last week.
The striker moved to the Seasiders as a free agent, having been released by Championship outfit Ipswich Town at the end of the 2014-15 season.
The former Reading player moved to Ipswich on a permanent contract only in the January transfer window, after spending some time on loan from Championship rivals Leeds United.
Hunt started the 2014-15 campaign with West Yorkshire outfit Leeds, but the Whites released him from his contract midway through the season.
The former Dundee United attacker struggled for playing time at Leeds, featuring just once in the Championship.
At Ipswich, Hunt played a total of 12 games in the league, scoring three goals and creating five chances in the process.
