Spurs have been linked with a move for the West Brom forward, and Anderton has advocated it.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are reportedly keen on the West Brom forward after his impressive form last season, with the Mirror saying they will open the bidding for his services at £10 million.
West Brom would be loathe to lose their star man though and are reportedly looking for a big money fee for their striker should he leave the Hawthorns.
Anderton though, believes he would be a good fit for Spurs should he make the move to White Hart Lane at some point this summer.
“I think Berahino would be a good fit for Spurs,” he wrote on Kicca.
“He’s hungry, young, English and wants to do well. His pace will stretch teams and he plays with Harry Kane for the Under 21s. But, not surprisingly, West Brom are very keen to keep him.”
Berahino's pace would be good for Tottenham
Aside from his obvious ability to find the back of the net, Berahino would add some much needed pace up front for Spurs should he make the move.
While Harry Kane is far from slow, he does not have the pace to seriously worry defenders like Berahino does, while the rest of the Spurs squad is hardly the fastest in the division either.
As Anderton suggests, Berahino’s pace would allow the side to stretch the opposition, while it would also give Pochettino’s side more options in their side and allow them to vary their style of play.
While a move is yet to happen, the striker would certainly be a decent acquisition. Whether Spurs are willing to pay the big money to secure him is another matter entirely.
