Connor Wickham comments on Twitter after Crystal Palace move

Connor Wickham has joined Crystal Palace from Premier League rivals Sunderland.

Connor Wickham has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at joining Crystal Palace.

The 22-year-old striker has left Sunderland to sign for Premier League rivals Palace on a five-year contract.

According to BBC Sport, the London outfit had to pay the Black Cats an initial transfer fee of £7 million to secure the services of the former England Under-21 international.

Wickham is delighted to have made the switch and has posted the following message on Twitter:

Wickham had been on the books of Sunderland since 2011, when he joined them from Ipswich Town.

The Englishman is rated as a very promising young forward and made 36 appearances in the Premier League for the Black Cats last season.

In those 36 league matches, the youngster scored five goals, created 21 chances, had a pass accuracy of 65% and a shot accuracy of 43%, and won 95 headers, 43 dribbles and 41 tackles.

Palace have signed a very promising young player who can establish himself as a top forward in the Premier League in the coming years.
