Burnley's opening-day preparations have been hit by injury.
Summer signing Lowton is currently recovering from a shin injury sustained last week while Norwegian midfielder Ulvestad was stretchered off during Saturday’s friendly against Bradford City and later underwent a precautionary scan.
Burnley will be looking to bounce straight back up to the Premier League following their relegation last season, but their manager Sean Dyche will know just how difficult it is to successfully navigate the unpredictable waters of the Championship and every point will be vital in their efforts.
They face a tough start against a Leeds side that showed in Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Everton that new manager Uwe Rosler has had an immediate positive impact at the club.
With some smart signings and some of the most exciting young players in the second tier, Leeds look set for a good season of their own and they could yet be one of Burnley’s biggest challengers for a promotion place.
One thing is for certain, both sides will be desperate to get three points this weekend and Burnley will be hoping their injured players make a swift recovery.
