Christian Benteke scored his first Liverpool goal as the Reds won 2-1 against Swindon Town.

Christian Benteke opened his account in spectacular fashion as Liverpool ended their pre-season preparations with a hard-earned victory over League One outfit Swindon Town.

Bringing the ball down with his chest on the edge of the box, he turned on the spot, before firing into the back of the opposition net.

Following the perfect debut, the Belgian hitman celebrated the result and his maiden goal on Twitter.

In a close knit affair, Reds youngster Sheyi Ojo also found himself on the scoresheet.

His winner came in the 87th minute, with his powerful strike proving too strong for Swindon 'keeper Lawrence Vigouroux, who was helpless in preventing the ball from crossing the line.

The 18-year-old, who spent a spell on loan at Wigan last season, took to Twitter to express his delight at his contribution at the County Ground, as he stated, "Dream come true to score my first senior goal for LFC & get the winner! God is good."

However, Ojo's dream could be short-lived, with manager Brendan Rodgers set to ship him out on loan for another season.

Indeed, reports from the Mirror suggesting that the teenager is set for a second spell in the Championship, with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
