A number of Arsenal players have taken to social networking site Twitter to revel in their FA Community Shield triumph.
England international attacker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s goal in the 24th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, Arsenal had 43% of the possession, took 11 shots of which five were on target, and earned four corners.
Chelsea had 57% of the possession, took 14 shots of which only two were on target, and earned four corners.
Following the FA Community Shield success, a number of Arsenal players took to Twitter to express their delight.
Jack Wilshere was also delighted with Arsenal’s triumph, although he did not feature in the game due to injury.
The England international midfielder, who missed almost six months of last season with an ankle injury, could sit out the opening game of the Premier League season against West Ham United due to a similar problem, according to The Guardian.
