West Ham should hijack Leicester City's bold move for Charles Aranguiz

The Chilean international is not keen on a Leicester move.

Leicester City are seemingly closing in on a move for Chilean international Charles Aranguiz, in what would be one of the best buys in the Premier League for some time.

It has been reported by Sky Sports that Leicester have agreed a club record fee for the midfielder of around £10.5 million with Brazilian side Internacional.

The deal would be a club record, surpassing the fee they paid for Andrej Kramaric last term.

It is now looking like Aranguiz prefers a move to Bayer Leverkusen, but should another Premier League team try to tempt him their way.

The team in mind is West Ham United.

The Hammers need another midfielder. They have Cheikhou Kouyate, Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang but their other options are not ideal. Kevin Nolan’s best days have passed him, Diego Poyet is still young and Morgan Amalfitano is more of a general presence than a genuine first-team option.

Alex Song is said to remain on the radar, but Aranguiz would be a far more valuable acquisition.

The midfielder is the pendulum in the Chile side that recently conquered their continent and now West Ham know the price for his services, they should come in for a hijacking.

Aranguiz would certainly be tempted by the Olympic Stadium move and, if they can see off plucky Astra Giurgiu, Europa League football.

At £10.5 million he is an absolute steal and Slaven Bilic would be right to step on The Foxes toes.
