Tottenham transfer news: Soldado set for £10m Villarreal move; Werner talks next week; £15m limit for Berahino

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado wants to return to Spain and join up with Villarreal.

It is fair to say the 30-year-old’s time at White Hart Lane has been far from successful, with a return of just 16 goals in 76 matches, and now the front-man appears closer than ever to a return to his homeland.

The latest report claims Villarreal’s coach has convinced Soldado to sign for his side and while Tottenham have allegedly been holding out for £12million the latest price-tag is said to be £10million.

That would be a substantial financial hit for Spurs but after such a poor showing it may be the best option for all concerned.

In other news, the Daily Mail also claims Tottenham will step up their interest in Stuttgart striker Timo Werner next week.

The teenager is not exactly prolific in front of goal himself but he is one for the future and the report claims Spurs see him as the perfect support striker for Harry Kane.

The report goes on to claim that while Tottenham remain interested in West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino they are not prepared to pay more than £15million for him.
