Feyenoord winger Jean-Paul Boetius is in talks with an unnamed European club, according to Voetbal International.
The 21-year-old has been linked with Newcastle, by the Daily Mail, in recent weeks and only has one year left on his current deal at De Kuip.
Boetius is predominantly a left sided winger who can play across the frontline and has scored 18 goals in his first 72 Eredivisie appearances.
He made 34 appearances for Feyenoord last season, scoring four goals and fashioning a further 40 chances for his teammates.
The youngster also completed 80% of his total attempted passes, while averaging 1.44 shots and 0.97 successful take ons per appearance.
Considering the Holland international has one year remaining on his contract, the Daily Mail's earlier report inferred that Steve McClaren's side were hopeful of signing him for around £2 million.
The player was missing from the selection team selection Feyenoord for their friendly against Olympiacos Piraeus yesterday evening, which only serves to intensify speculation surrounding his departure.
