Report: Hull City want loan deal for highly-rated Manchester United defender Paddy McNair

Hull are reportedly taking an interest in the availability of Manchester United's Paddy McNair.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce is waiting to see if Manchester United will allow highly-rated youngster Paddy McNair to leave Old Trafford on loan this summer, according to the Mirror.

The Tigers boss has moved James Chester out to West Brom for £8 million, but the report suggests he is under pressure to further slash the KC Stadium wage bill - this has led him to hope the Red Devils will allow the 19-year-old to leave on a temporary-basis.

McNair made 16 appearances in his first ever senior season at Old Trafford last term, impressing in spells for Louis van Gaal's side.

Throughout this time, he completed an impressive 87% of his average passes, while finding success in 41% of his tackles and 55% of his aerial duels. 

His form in the first-team saw him rewarded rewarded with a new deal in February, tying him to Manchester United until June 2017.

Despite Hull's interest, the Mirror suggests that, due to a lack of defensive options at the Red Devils' disposal, Bruce may have to wait until after the season gets under way before he gets his man.
