According to a report in the Mirror, Everton are mulling over whether to make a bid for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Kortney Hause.
The Toffees are seemingly in the market for a new defender this summer, having seen Antolin Alcaraz and Sylvain Distin opt to leave the club and John Stones become the subject of two Chelsea bids.
Hause started last season out of the first-team picture and enjoyed a short spell on loan at Gillingham before returning to the Midlands and establishing himself as a regular.
The 20-year-old is highly thought of at Molineux, with fresh reports stating Everton boss Roberto Martinez has sent scouts to watch the England U20 international in action ahead of a potential bid.
“Everton are considering a bid for Wolves defender Kortney Hause. Roberto Martinez sent chief scouts to watch the England Under-20 star in midweek as he looks to bring in a new central defender,” reports say.
Hause is capable of playing along the back-line, yet his natural position is at left-back where he made 15 Championship starts for Wolves last season, grabbing two assists.
His key attributes are his ability to stay on his feet, time his tackles well and provide a calm assurance at the back, both in and out of possession.
Everton ideally need at least one more defensive addition before the window shuts on September 3rd, and acquiring Hause would be wise considering his versatility, potential and probable high resale value.
