Villarreal could be able to sign Roberto Soldado from Tottenham Hotspur for a transfer fee of around £10 million, according to The Daily Mail.
It has been reported by the British newspaper that the Spain international striker wants to leave Spurs for the Spanish outfit this summer.
Sevilla and Benfica are also reported to be interested in Soldado, but the 30-year-old striker prefers Villarreal.
This could allegedly bring down the transfer fee from the £12m that Spurs were hoping to get to around £10m.
Best for Roberto Soldado and Tottenham Hotspur
Soldado has been a failure at Tottenham in the two years he has been there, having managed just 16 goals in all competitions.
The former Real Madrid striker is not guaranteed playing time at Spurs, and it is best for him that he leaves White Hart Lane this summer.
If Soldado leaves, then Tottenham will have to sign a replacement as they will have only Harry Kane and Emmanuel Adebayor as their recognised strikers.
