West Ham United lost 2-1 to German side Werder Bremen this weekend in the Betway Cup pre-season competition.
The Hammers opened the scoring through striker Diafra Sakho after just 19 minutes but Anthony Ujah equalised almost straight away, with West Ham stopper Adrian at fault for not dealing with the long-range shot.
Only another 11 minutes had passed when Ujah scored his second of the afternoon and that was how the match ended, with West Ham’s pre-season campaign now complete.
Next up for Slaven Bilic’s side is the Europa League third qualifying round second leg against AC Astra before the Hammers kick off their new Premier League campaign away to Arsenal a few days later.
West Ham started Sunday’s match with a strong side, with summer signings Angelo Ogbonna and Dimitri Payet again taking to the field along with returning loanee Carl Jenkinson.
Teenage left-back Lewis Page also started for the Hammers having previously played both games against Lusitanos earlier this summer while 18-year-old right-back Kyle Knoyle came on in the second half.
