The 33-year-old former Rennes star started the encounter against London rivals Chelsea earlier today and played for the entire 90 minutes, helping the Gunners win it 1-0.
The veteran Czech Republic international moved from Chelsea to Premier League rivals Arsenal earlier this summer, and he was pleased with the support he received from both sets of fans at the Wembley Stadium in London.
Cech was superb for Arsenal and made a number of important saves to keep Arsene Wenger’s side in the game.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, the Gunners had 43% of the possession, took 11 shots of which five were on target, and earned four corners.
Chelsea had 57% of the possession, took 14 shots of which two were on target, and earned four corners.
