Pedro started for Barcelona in their latest pre-season friendly despite rumours continuing to link him to Manchester United.

The Spanish international featured in the club's 2-1 loss to Fiorentina.

The Mail reported 24 hours earlier that Pedro's transfer to United was imminent, with his mother reportedly claiming he has decided to join the Red Devils.

The attacker has been a key part of the Barcelona side, even helping them to a Champions League win over United in 2011.

He is reportedly being lined up as a replacement for Angel di Maria, who The BBC report is closing in on a move to PSG, with a medical set to take place in Doha.

The Metro have claimed Pedro has agreed a five-year deal with United worth £3.5 million a season.

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez scored Barcelona's goal in their defeat, but Pedro's performance drew praise from United fans, who clearly hope he will be a Red Devils player by time the Premier League season kicks off next week.
