Confirmed: Rangers line-up v Peterhead

Scottish Championship outfit Rangers will take on Peterhead in the first round of the Scottish League Cup this afternoon...

Rangers will be looking to progress to the second round of the Scottish League Cup with victory over Peterhead at home this afternoon.

The Gers will head into the game at the Ibrox Stadium on the back of a 6-2 victory over Hibernian away from home in the first round of the Scottish Challenge Cup.

The Glasgow giants will be confident of getting a result today, especially as they have done quite well in pre-season.

Rangers’ main aim this season will be to win the Scottish Championship title and get automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership for the 2016-17 campaign.

However, Mark Warburton’s side will be looking to fare well in the domestic cup competitions, and winning the Scottish League Cup first-round tie against Peterhead will be a start.

It promises to be an interesting game of football at Ibrox, and this is how Glasgow outfit Rangers will line up:

Rangers XI: Foderingham; Tavernier, Wilson, Kiernan, Wallace; Shiels, Halliday, Law; McKay, Waghorn Templeton

Subs: Kelly, Zaliukas, Aird, Walsh, Holt, Miller, Clark
