How the Community Shield unfolded in images and online.

Arsene Wenger ended his hoodoo against Jose Mourinho on Sunday afternoon, with neither manager shaking each other's hand at the end of the game after Arsenal beat Chelsea in the Community Shield.

Wenger is still yet to beat Mourinho in a league game but the Gunners lifted the first silverware of the season, just as they did last term at Wembley Stadium.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring in the first half with a fantastic strike and it proved the winner as Arsenal defended resiliently, with Chelsea looking distinctly off the pace.

Chelsea fans were disappointed throughout on Twitter.

Arsenal fans, however, were naturally full of joy.

A few pundits and ex-players also took note of the Gunners on Twitter, as Wenger and co celebrated yet another victory at Wembley.

After half-time, Chelsea knocked on the door and Eden Hazard missed a great chance to put the Blues back on level terms.

But they couldn't break Arsenal down in the end, as the Gunners continued their strong pre-season. West Ham are next up for them in the Premier League. Petr Cech and more will be smiling going into it.
