The Premier League season is nearly upon us and the traditional curtain opener that comes with it is already here - right now!
Indeed, Arsenal are taking on Chelsea at Wembley Stadium and, at half-time, are 1-0 up thanks to a superb strike from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Things got off to a predictably cagey start, as Chelsea enjoyed more of the possession when things kicked off. Cesc Fabregas was brought down and some thought the Blues could have had a penalty. But Arsene Wenger remained calm...
Then came the Ox's moment of magic, as he cut inside to make mince meat of Cesar Azpilicueta. Here's how Twitter saw his goal...
Hell of a finish that. Big season for Oxlade-Chamberlain. Probably deserve to be ahead on the run of play so far Arsenal. #CommunityShield— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) August 2, 201
Great goal by the Ox!!!— David Seaman (@thedavidseaman) August 2, 2015
Proceedings calmed down thereafter, with Arsenal controlling play and not really letting Chelsea back into things.
But Ramires enjoyed two relatively good openings, failing to get his side back on level terms.
Just before half-time, Oxlade-Chamberlain caused more problems at the back for Chelsea but ultimately failed to double Arsenal's lead.
The Gunners still lead going into the break, thanks to a moment of brilliance from the 21-year-old. Can they hold on against Jose Mourinho's men?
