Arsenal won the 2015 Community Shield after a 1-0 victory over London rivals Chelsea at Wembley Stadium earlier today.
The Gunners went into the game knowing that they had yet to beat a Chelsea side managed by Jose Mourinho, but Arsene Wenger ended the curse by claiming the win this afternoon.
A first half goal from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was enough to give Arsenal the silverware, following on from the Gunners' FA Cup final success at Wembley just over two months ago, where they beat Aston Villa 4-0.
The victory means that Arsenal head into next weekend's Premier League opener against West Ham in great spirits, whilst many have some doubts over last season's champions Chelsea after a disappointing display at Wembley.
One of the main talking points from the game saw Petr Cech face former club Chelsea for the first time making the move to Arsenal earlier this summer, and the experienced goalkeeper played his part in the Gunners victory with some good saves.
Arsenal fans were unsurprisingly quick to point out how important Cech had been in helping Wenger end his hoodoo over Mourinho, with many pointing out his 'superb' display, regarding him as man of the match.
Here are some of the reactions from Arsenal fans after Cech faced Chelsea for the first time since leaving Stamford Bridge...
Cèch gives our defence so much confidence. Long may it continue. #AFC— Adam Pöelvöörde (@adzyp2012) August 2, 2015

Having Cech in goal is just massive. Must feel real good for him to get the W, and also keep a clean sheet #AFC— Adam Peterson (@Amish_Thunder) August 2, 2015
