Aston Villa need to make a move for a goalkeeper in the transfer market.
Aston Villa have undergone a season of change. Tim Sherwood has watched three key men leave the club, with Christian Benteke, Ron Vlaar and Fabian Delph all departing.
However, they have been very busy replacing them.
The likes of Micah Richards, Jordan Amavi, Jose Angel Crespo, Idrissa Gueye, Rudy Gestede, Jordan Ayew and Jordan Veretout have all arrived at Villa this summer.
With a month left of the Transfer Window, where do Aston Villa need to strengthen most of all?
It seems Emmanuel Adebayor will soon be through the door as well, meaning the striker positions are well covered. The other signings have covered other problem positions such as full-back, centre midfield and centre-back.
The club could maybe do with another winger, but they have plenty of coverage.
The one position they should still sign a player in is in between the sticks.
Villa snapped up Mark Bunn from Norwich City, but he is not Premier League regular quality. Brad Guzan struggled last term and ended up losing his place to Shay Given – who joined Stoke City this summer.
Villa therefore must target a top quality goalkeeper to challenge Guzan, or replace him, as the current incumbent at Villa Park.
Do that, and relegation will be of no concern to them this campaign – not that it should be regardless.
