West Brom fans welcome Rickie Lambert on Twitter, react to dream debut

Rickie Lambert

Rickie Lambert has moved from Liverpool to Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion.

West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Rickie Lambert’s dream debut for the club on Friday evening.

The England international striker scored twice on his debut for West Brom, having joined them from Premier League rivals Liverpool earlier in the day.

The 33-year-old found the target against his former club Bristol Rovers in the 23rd minute and in the 46th minute to guide the Baggies to a comprehensive 4-0 win.

Lambert is a good striker and can be a decent back-up, despite his struggles with Liverpool last season.

The Englishman moved to the Reds from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer of 2014.

Lambert did not fit in Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers’s style and could make just 25 Premier League appearances last season, scoring two goals and creating 11 chances in the process.

West Brom fans, though, are happy that Lambert has joined them and were delighted with his performance on Friday.

Below are some of the best comments from the Baggies supporters on social networking site Twitter:
