Sheffield Wednesday’s Alex Lopez comments on Twitter after making Hillsborough debut

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Alex Lopez has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at making his debut at the Hillsborough Stadium.

The 27-year-old featured in the Owls’ 5-0 victory over Scottish outfit St Mirren in a pre-season friendly game earlier today.

It was the first time that Lopez had featured in a home match for Wednesday, and he is overjoyed to have done so.

Lopez joined Wednesday on loan from Spanish club Celta de Vigo earlier this month, and he will be determined to have a successful 2015-16 campaign with the Owls.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side will be aiming for a top-six finish in the Championship this season and maintaining their chance of getting promoted to the Premier League.

It will not be easy, though, as a number of clubs in the second tier of English football have similar ambitions.

The Owls have signed as many as six players on permanent contracts so far this summer, with three more joining on loan.
