Former Queens Park Rangers and Manchester City forward Rodney Marsh has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Rickie Lambert’s heroics for West Bromwich Albion on Friday evening.
The England international striker scored twice on his debut for West Brom, having joined them from Premier League rivals Liverpool earlier in the day.
The 33-year-old found the target against his former club Bristol Rovers in the 23rd minute and in the 46th minute to guide the Baggies to a comprehensive 4-0 win.
Marsh was impressed with the performance of Lambert and made the following posts on Twitter:
Really pleased for Ricky Lambert after his lost year... 2 goals on his debut— Rodney Marsh (@RodneyMarsh10) July 31, 2015
Wouldn't if be funny if Ricky Lambert scored more goals this season than any forward at LFC ?!!— Rodney Marsh (@RodneyMarsh10) July 31, 2015
Good signing for West Bromwich Albion?
Lambert is a good striker and can be a decent back-up, despite his struggles with Liverpool last season.
The England international moved to the Reds from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer of 2014.
The 33-year-old did not fit in Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers’s style and could make just 25 Premier League appearances last season, scoring two goals and creating 11 chances in the process.
