Arsene Wenger was keen not to lose the momentum of Jeff Reine-Adelaide's Emirates Cup performance ahead of the Community Shield, as the 17-year-old trained with Arsenal's first team ahead of their clash with Chelsea.
The north London side face the Blues at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon and Reine-Adelaide was busy training with the Arsenal first team ahead of the showpiece event.
The French teenager wowed fans during the Emirates Cup, most notably setting up Theo Walcott's winner against Wolfsburg last Sunday afternoon.
Could the Arsenal youngster be set to produce once again in the capital a week later?
Simply training with the Gunners doesn't guarantee Reine-Adelaide will feature against Chelsea, of course, but he was more involved in first-team training than many of the other youngsters that featured during the Emirates Cup. It appears the Arsenal teenager has a big future ahead of him - and Wenger wants to give him as much time with the seniors as possible.
As for the Shield itself, it remains to be seen who the Gunners boss fields against Chelsea and just how seriously both sides will take it. Who'll come out on top...?
