Leeds fans tip Adeyemi to be 'vital' this season after Everton win

The 23-year-old impressed for Leeds during an impressive 2-0 win over Premier League opposition.

Just when it looked like Leeds United's midfield would be far from ready come the start of the Championship season, up stepped Tom Adeyemi and co and delivered a stellar pre-season performance against Everton on Saturday afternoon.

Premier League or no Premier League, the Toffees were second best at Elland Road as Leeds registered their first win of pre-season to end it on the best note possible. Alex Mowatt and Chris Wood got the goals, both impressing Leeds fans as Everton were duly dismissed comfortably.

But it was midfielder Adeyemi who plenty of supporters seemed to notice most. Indeed, with Luke Murphy out injured - and now also Tommaso Bianchi - plenty will be needed from the 23-year-old in the coming weeks. Adeyemi, though, may just become a vital player for the Whites, according to those watching him on Saturday afternoon.

Twitter was abuzz with excited Leeds fans that were full of praise for the likes of Wood, Mowatt, Lewis Cook and more. Yet Adeyemi delivered the most important performance against Everton. Uwe Rosler's midfield should be in good hands with him in the holding role.

Here's what Leeds supporters said about the midfielder on Twitter...
