Bundesliga football expert Jan Aage Fjortoft has stated on social networking site Twitter that Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola will extend his contract at the Allianz Arena but still walk away from the club next summer.
The former Barcelona boss has come under criticism from Bundesliga onlookers, despite winning the league by some margin for two successive seasons.
The biggest gripe supporters have with the Spaniard is his insistence on tinkering and being too cute in his ideas, prompting outcomes such as the Champions League semi-final defeat to Barcelona last May.
Rumours have long speculated that his future could lie away from Germany, his rolling contract an obvious issue and the links to Premier League side Manchester City.
As per recent unconfirmed reports quoted by the Mirror, Guardiola has allegedly already agreed to join City in 2016, presumably replacing Manuel Pellegrini regardless of what happens this season.
While such reports are dubious, Bundesliga expert Fjortoft predicts the 44-year-old will extend his current contract in Bavaria but still depart the club at the end of the upcoming campaign.

Guardiola in the Premier League?
Pep Guardiola joining the Premier League would be a wonderful scenario, the prospect of facing the likes of Arsene Wenger and bitter rival Jose Mourinho on a regular basis is almost too good to be true.
City’s huge financial clout could certainly tempt him with a move, although it would be interesting to see whether his demanding style would have a positive impact on the club’s high-profile stars.
