The Tigers have spent most of the summer battling to keep hold of key players with Tom Ince, Robbie Brady and James Chester heading up a long list of departed stars.
Former Newcastle United star Ryan Taylor and Sam Clucas from Chesterfield have been the only permanent recruits at the KC Stadium so far, a worrying sight ahead of the new campaign.
However, the decision to bring in Hayden on a season-long loan deal is a smart move by boss Steve Bruce, as he looks to provide competition for his key players Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore.
Hayden captained the Gunners’ U21 side last season and featured for the first-team during their 2-1 loss to Southampton in the early stages of the League Cup.
Versatile in a number of positions, the England U20 international has a bright future ahead of him and played a role in the club’s recent Emirates Cup victory.
A loan spell in the Championship is a wise career move and has become a common theme for Arsenal youngsters over the years, with regular talented Hector Bellerin having a spell at Watford.
Hull are a solid outfit and will be expected to challenge for a top-six place at the very least, another positive factor as Hayden looks to learns how to deal with pressure and obtain a winning mentality.
Here is a selection of comments on Twitter as both Hull and Arsenal supporters react to the deal:
If Akpom goes to Hull he will bang in goals, expecting good loan spells for Crowley and Isaac Hayden as well. All are very good players #AFC— Daniel (@Ra1nManHD) July 31, 2015
