The former Liverpool striker is a huge fan of the 19-year-old.
Ibe delivered the cross that led to Divock Origi's opener for Liverpool as Brendan Rodgers' side ran out 2-0 winners.
And Aldridge was delighted by what he saw from the 19-year-old overall. Indeed, the ex-Reds striker feels Ibe was the side's best player and has been 'by far' the most outstanding in pre-season so far.
Jordan Ibe was yet again our best player today!been by far the outstanding player from the pre season games!— John Aldridge (@Realaldo474) August 1, 2015
Aldridge, unsurprisingly, agreed:
I've said that for the last yr or so rob.He may even keep him out of the England team in the coming years!! https://t.co/4VrIsuiWJA— John Aldridge (@Realaldo474) August 1, 2015
Can Ibe really surpass Sterling?
It is with a pinch of salt that neutrals and Manchester City fans alike have so far taken the Liverpool legends' combined battering of Sterling and the suggestions Ibe can surpass him.
But the Liverpool youngster is a superb player with a work ethic and attitude Sterling simply doesn't seem to have.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a good pre-season with Manchester City yet, in reality, there is no reason Ibe can't develop into a better player. If you wanted someone who would give you 100 per cent, the current Liverpool star would surely be the obvious choice...
