Darren O'Dea says Van Dijk is one of Celtic's best ever centre-backs

The former Celtic centre-back has nothing but praise for the 24-year-old.

Darren O'Dea is a huge fan of Virgil van Dijk and thinks the centre-back is one of the best in Celtic history.

Indeed, the man who spent six years at Celtic (although he was loaned out several times during that period) feels there are obstacles when it comes to cross-comparing great Bhoys defenders.

But he is confident nevertheless that the Dutchman is one of the best to have graced Parkhead.

After Celtic's 2-0 win over Ross County during the opening day of their Scottish Premiership campaign, O'Dea took to Twitter to cast his verdict on the 24-year-old he feels has 'got everything.'

Many have speculated that Van Dijk could leave Parkhead should the Hoops fail to qualify for the Champions League group stages, while Everton boss Roberto Martinez has been linked with a move for the Dutch defender, according to Daily Mail.

Should Ronny Deila's men make the elite European competition, however, the chances of Van Dijk staying - who may well do anyway - will no doubt increase. And that's something that would certainly please ex-Celtic man O'Dea by the looks of it.
