West Brom’s Darren Fletcher: Tottenham won’t get Saido Berahino for £15m

The Scottish midfielder has stated that the Baggies forward is a vital member of Tony Pulis’ squad.

West Brom captain Darren Fletcher has stated that Saido Berahino is a vital member of the Baggies’ squad and that the striker would cost much more than £15 million, as per talkSPORT.

The young English striker has been linked all-summer long with a move to Tottenham, as per The Independent, with Mauricio Pochettino eyeing the attacker to bolster the White Hart Lane club’s ranks.

Berahino impressed last season with his eye for goal, versatility and speed but his future is seemingly always up for debate.

Fletcher was full of praise for his team-mate and stated that reports that Berahino would cost Spurs £15 million were selling the forward short.

“He’s vital to us – he’s our main goalscoring threat,” the former Manchester United man told talkSPORT.

“I can’t speak highly enough of him, since the day I stepped in the door and getting to know him and passing on some advice, he’s been top class – his attitude on and off the pitch.

“He’s come back this season even hungrier, he was really disappointed to miss the Under-21 European Championships and he really wants a big season this year – he’s one of those players who constantly does your head in as he always wants the ball.

“He’s very important to us, I think we’ve got a good chance of keeping him – it’ll take a real big offer to take him away because of how much quality he has.

“The figures branded, I’ve seen £15million – I can’t see the club selling him for that, it’ll take a lot more than that because of how important he is.”

The 21-year-old scored 14 Premier League goals last season, proving he has what it takes to excel at the highest level.

Tottenham are over-reliant on Harry Kane for goals, while they also have concerns on the right-hand side of their midfield.

Links to Berahino seemingly make sense, with the youthful attacker sure to give Pochettino options in the final third and adding a goal threat to the North London outfit’s attack.
