Aston Villa have reportedly had an offer rejected for the Baggies defender.

According to the Birmingham Mail among others, Aston Villa have had a bid rejected for West Brom defender Joleon Lescott.

Lescott signed for the Baggies on a free transfer after leaving then Premier League champions Manchester City last summer. He instantly established himself as one of the club's most senior players in terms of experience, ability and leadership.

But his high status within the West Brom squad has reportedly not put off Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood, who is said to have made an offer for the 32-year-old that West Brom have turned down.

And Baggies fans have simply laughed off the bid on social media, with a number of West Brom supporters on Twitter simply not being able to contain their laughter.

The jibes no doubt go both ways, with Aston Villa fans boasting that they support the bigger club. They will also have plenty to say if they can eventually prise Lescott away from the Hawthorns.

According to West Brom supporters, though, there is zero chance of that happening. And they've made their feelings perfectly clear to their Villa counterparts online...
