Uwe Rosler comments on Leeds’ interest in Will Buckley

Sunderland winger Will Buckley is being targeted by Championship club Leeds United.

Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler has hinted to The Chronicle that he is interested in signing Will Buckley from Sunderland this summer.

The West Yorkshire outfit are looking for a winger at the moment, and Rosler has admitted that the 25-year-old fits the bill.

“As far as I know Will is a winger and we’re looking for a winger, yes,” Rosler is quoted as saying by The Chronicle when asked about Leeds’ interest in Buckley.

HITC Sport reported earlier this week that Championship club Birmingham City are also interested in signing Buckley this summer.

Good signing for Leeds United?

Buckley does not appear to have a future at Sunderland, having struggled to make an impact at the Stadium of Light last season.

The former Watford star failed to play regularly during the 2014-15 campaign, and he is unlikely to fare any better this term.

Given his experience and success with Brighton & Hove Albion, Buckley would be a good signing for Leeds, who will be aiming for a top-six finish in the Championship.

The 25-year-old may not necessarily be guaranteed a place in the starting line-up, but he will certainly be an asset in the squad.
