Sherwood has not been speaking to the press for some time, but he was expected to return to normal duties after tomorrow’s pre-season friendly game against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
However, according to The Mirror, the Englishman will speak to the media only after Togolese striker Adebayor becomes part of his squad.
How long will it take?
The Mirror claims that a loan deal for Adebayor has not been finalised yet, as Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is playing hardball.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City striker has reportedly already undergone a medical at Villa, but he cannot officially join the Villans at the moment.
Do Aston Villa need Emmanuel Adebayor?
Adebayor is past his prime and is overall an average striker (although may will point out that on his day he can be unplayable).
The signings of strikers Jordan Ayew and Rudy Gestede mean that the Villans can actually do without the 31-year-old.
However, having worked with Adebayor at Tottenham, Sherwood probably believes that he can get the best out of the striker.
