Report: Napoli offer Tottenham Hotspur utility man Juan Camilo Zuniga for £5.6m

The Partenopei are hoping to get rid of the Colombian international this summer.

Napoli are keen to shift one of their players this summer in the form of Juan Camilo Zuniga, and are said to be hopeful of convincing Tottenham Hotspur to snap him up.

Calcio Mercato, as well as several outlets in Italy, are reporting that Zuniga and Napoli have come to an agreement on him leaving the club this summer.

He is believed to want a move to England and Tottenham are said to be the team at the top of the list.

Spurs could get the Colombian international for an €8 million (£5.6 million) fee, as Napoli are offering him out for that much, as reported by Canale Napoli.

Zuniga, who has 62 caps for Colombia, has been at Napoli for six years. Last season he barely featured for Napoli, playing just seven times in Serie A but played at this summer’s Copa America and the World Cup in Brazil last summer.

He has had to battle knee injury trouble in that time, which makes the price-tag very unrealistic.

Do Spurs need him?

Not particularly.

Zuniga can play at either left or right back but Tottenham currently have sufficient cover in both areas.

It would appear that Napoli are keen to get rid of the player but Spurs should not be picking up their damaged goods at this point in time.
