Report: Liverpool and Newcastle eye Manchester United’s Ashley Young

Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are all reportedly interested in Manchester United winger Ashley Young.

Liverpool are interested in signing Ashley Young from Manchester United this summer, according to The Daily Star.

The British newspaper claims that the England international winger could be available for a transfer fee of around £8 million.

It has been reported that Young wants a new contract, and will force an exit from Old Trafford if he feels that he is unwanted.

The Daily Star has also reported that Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are interested in securing the services of the former Aston Villa star this summer.

Which club should Ashley Young join?

Leaving United for Liverpool, Tottenham or Newcastle would be a step down for Young, but he is at a stage in his career where he needs to play regularly.

The former Watford star was an important player for the Red Devils last season, but the signing of winger Memphis Depay from PSV earlier this summer has raised doubts whether he would be able to play all the time in the upcoming 2015-16 campaign.

It does not look very feasible that Young would be able to move to Liverpool given the Merseyside outfit’s intense rivalry with United.

Newcastle are not in Europe and would be aiming only for a top-10 finish in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham is the best option for Young, who would get playing time at White Hart Lane and would also be playing for a team aiming to return to the Champions League.
