Swindon Town have had a loan move for Leeds United's Nicky Ajose rejected, says reports.
According to Sky Sports, Swindon Town have failed in an attempt to sign Leeds United striker Nicky Ajose on loan.
Head coach Uwe Rosler left Ajose, who spent a chunk of last season out on loan away from Elland Road, out of the club's pre-season tour, making it clear that he has no future with the Whites.
However, the latest report from Sky Sports suggest that Swindon's approach for the player - even on a temporary basis - has been rebuffed by the Leeds hierarchy.
Ajose had a six-month loan spell with the North Wiltshire outfit during in the 2013/14 campaign, becoming a hugely popular figure during at the County Ground as he scored 10 times in 21 outings.
He returned to parent club Peterborough United in January 2014, before securing a permanent move to Leeds, where he has since struggled to make an impact.
Ajose would represent a magnificent capture for Mark Cooper's Swindon side, who are rebuilding after the loss of several key players this summer.
The 23-year-old's arrival would no doubt soften the blow of Andy Williams' departure, who left as a free agent this summer, having ended the previous season as the club's top scorer with 21 league goals in just 28 starts.
It appears the Whites are trying to offload the striker as they prepare to head into the new Championship campaign, but with the Robins loan bid having been rejected, the player himself will be unsure where his future lies.
