Newcastle fan painstakingly recreates St James' Park in Minecraft

Well, this is pretty amazing!

A very dedicated Newcastle United fan has taken it upon himself to recreate the famous St James' Park in painstaking detail in... Minecraft

There have been plenty of amazing things built in the super popular video game, from the Starship Enterprise to Westeros and Essos from Game of Thrones, but this effort from 20-year-old Jordan Shenton is something else!

The creation took the dedicated Magpies fan two years to create and features everything from a pristine pitch, the famous Gallowgate End and the Nine Bar.

Speaking to the Evening Chronicle, Shenton revealed on what brought him to do the painstaking work: “I set myself a challenge and I just wanted to prove I could do something that big. I wanted to prove to myself I could do something like this.”

The 20-year-old also revealed that it helped to keep his mind busy while he was looking for a job: “I used this to keep my mind focused on something. It helps me mentally and helps with my thinking.

“I just really wanted to prove to myself I could do it. I’ve spent a lot of time playing video games and it’s just something I’m interested in.”

So next time you are out of work and getting fed up of getting rejected, just jump on Minecraft and get to work on recreating the Old Wembley or the Aztec Stadium.
