Manchester United transfer news: Pedro can move after 11 August; Evans part-exchange for Stones offer

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from the Mirror, Manchester United are prepared to offer defender Jonny Evans in part-exchange for Everton centre-back John Stones.

United are in need of quality defensive reinforcements and they are now being linked with the young Toffees player who looks set for a very bright future in the game.

Evans seems surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and the latest report claims United feel confident they can sign him if they make a substantial cash offer and throw the Northern Ireland international in for good measure.

In other news, Spanish newspaper Marca claims Barcelona winger Pedro will be allowed to leave for United this summer but not until after the Catalan club’s European Super Cup clash with Sevilla on 11 August.

Barcelona reportedly want the 28-year-old available for that match as some of their other attacking options will have had little pre-match preparation but they will then willingly wave him goodbye if United pay between €30million and €32million for the player.

That equates to around £22.4million and would represent a good deal for United given the Spaniard’s talent.
