Tottenham Hotspur fans may be interested in the latest tweet from the Lyon president regarding one of his players.
The president of French side Lyon has taken to Twitter to address the speculation surrounding centre-forward Clinton N’Jie.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur, with French publication Le Parisien claiming Spurs have offered around £7million for the player but the Ligue 1 side are holding out for double that.
But now Jean-Michel Aulas has had his say on social media, tackling suggestions Christophe Jallet would miss an upcoming match through injury at the same time.
“After telling lies about Christophe Jallet, you are persisting with Clinton,” the Lyon supremo wrote in a tweet to Le Parisien. “Lyon do not need money. Stop it!”
So it seems the report suggesting the French side are holding out for the best possible deal for the Cameroon international is untrue, and that could work one of two ways for Tottenham if they are indeed interested in the player.
Either Spurs could get a better deal with Lyon not holding them to ransom or, with the French side in no dire need of additional income, they could hold on to a player whose current contract runs until the summer of 2019.
Tottenham certainly need some additional strikers given their current reliance on Harry Kane, but a more experienced player such as Javier Hernandez would surely be a better option.
