According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Celtic are ready to contact Valenciennes over a deal to sign teenager Yanis Hamzaoui.
The Bhoys have signed four players this summer, bringing in goalkeeper Logan Bailly, defenders Dedryck Boyata and Saidy Janko as well as striker Nadir Ciftci.
Manager Ronny Deila has a strong first team squad for the new Scottish Premiership season, but the Norwegian may also want to cast his eye towards the future.
L'Equipe suggest that Celtic are interested in signing Valenciennes utility man Yanis Hamzaoui, and are preparing to contact the French side over a deal.
Hamzaoui, 19, can play at right back and in defensive midfield, and could be seen as one for the future if the Bhoys manage to sign him.
However, the report also suggests that Bundesliga giants Wolfsburg have a long-standing interest in Hamzaoui, and could rival Celtic for his signature.
Having already signed Janko to be the right back of the future, Celtic may see Hamzaoui as a midfielder, where he could rival Scott Brown and Nir Bitton in the future.
A deal may be some way off, but it seems that Deila is casting his net far and wide in search of reinforcements - whether they are for immediate impact or playing further down the line.
